Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We came here for a quick snack and fell in love with their pastries a few days ago. We came back 2 times with last order of 12 pieces of pastries. Their pastries look beautiful and very delicious. The cashier was polite and helpful. There were 2 small table sitting outside the tiny cafe. You will receive a small discount if you order 10+ pieces. Their cappuccino with their house bean is of pretty good roast. Their Danish must be one of their best sellers. Only one Strawberry Danish left by 9:20 am on a Saturday. We also love their Almond croissant, Ham and bacon croissants, ham and cheese croissants and everything that we ordered. Highly recommend this bakery shop."
"We only had room to try one pastry which was the Ube Moon and it was good! Initially thought it was too expensive at $7.99 which btw it still is but at least it was a generous/sharing portion and delicious. Will be back to check out their other pastries!"
"Saw this viral bakery on Instagram and got to check it out. The location is in prime downtown area of Castro valley. We got there 30 mins before closing and was surprised that they still had a lot of options left. There were a lot that I was curious about, but we ended up going with the lemongrass chicken croissant and pistachio croissant. Lemon grass was very delicious. It was chicken thigh and seasoned very well. I wish the chicken was shredded because there were bites that didn’t have chicken in it. Pistachio croissant is filled with pistachio cream. I liked it alot and would recommend trying this. Coffee selection was limited at the end of the day. The orange latte was very good. Love this spot and everyone should try One’s Cafe!"
"Would return & try savories. Went xmas day 2025, pastries we took home: ▪ #1 Our Favorite of 5 had (3)blueberries atop Passionfruit creme on a tall cupcake shaped croissant w/most delicious orangey-yellow passion creme on top & inside, the punch of flavor from the fresh blueberry with the delicious passionfruit is hard to beat ▪ #2 bowtie shaped with the best cream-cheese creme filling, our 2nd fave ▪ Almond croissant was delish, sensed the almond extract essence, try with chocolate ▪ oreo on top a vanilla cupcake shaped croissant dough, has nice creme & dense heavy chunk layer of brownie/ganache(?) inside yum, more sugar vs dough on this item & its def a dessert & may not pass as as a breakfast pastry, liked it! ▪ ube crescent (purple yam) refrigerate, lasts 2days, not as sugary, prettiest dough, enjoyed but would try something else ▪ some savory options, try the spicy chicken lemongrass pepperjack croissant"
"really really recommend. best croissants i’ve ever had. their lemongrass chicken croissant is simply genius. check out the evidence."
"OBSESSED! You know you’re eating a good pastry when it’s flaky and buttery, and the one’s I tried did not disappoint whatsoever! My favorite that I tried was the matcha mini wheel. It’s such a cute bakery with great service as well. I also appreciated them having parking to the side - makes life a lot easier when you want to quickly grab your baked goods and a coffee without having to hunt down street parking. The iced orange latte was also the perfect sip on a hot day!"
"Hidden gem in Castro valley Cute lil coffee shop and their coffee is smooth and hits the right spot. If you come earlier in the morning you might even see plenty of pastries. Next time, I will plan to come early and try their pastries. So happy to see mom n pop coffee shops open up in CV. This is the new Hayes Valley of the east bay!"
"Their laminated pastries are works of art, so creative both visually and flavor wise, incorporating asian elements like black sesame cream and lemongrass chicken. Although the interior is small I love the outdoor seating when it’s warm outside! I will definitely be back."
